Paul Potts is in town and has been preparing for this weekend's upcoming Christchurch benefit show with Kiwi songstress Elizabeth Marvelly.
The pair rehearsed together at the Bruce Mason Centre in Auckland this morning in preparation for To Christchurch With Love, the April 2 show that will raise money for the New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Appeal.
Other stars taking part include the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Dame Malvina Major, The Lady Killers, Tim Beveridge, Shane Cortese, Ray Woolf, Rikki Morris, Gray Bartlett, Robyn Malcolm, Goldenhorse and Hillary Barry.
Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts said he was only too happy to help with the fundraising venture.
"My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by this disaster. Kiwis are big-hearted people who are also rightfully proud of their beautiful country," he said in a statement.
"No one knows what the immediate future holds, but one thing is certain, this disaster will not defeat the spirit of the people of Aotearoa." said Potts, who began his tour of New Zealand in Christchurch in 2008.
Marvelly said she was only too happy to perform with Potts, her close friend.
"Our hearts are all with Christchurch and we want to help out the best we can," she said.
Tickets for the show cost $99 or $300.
