Teens rob dairy for icecreams and bikkies!!

A teenage boy was being questioned by police yesterday after a dairy was held up at gunpoint for icecream and chocolate biscuits - prompting calls for urgent action on youth crime.

A security tape of the robbery shows three boys - two wearing masks - enter the Edendale Superette in Auckland's inner suburbs.

One of the boys pulls out what appears to be a silver pistol and points it at shopkeeper Shazia Hussain who was alone in the shop with her two-month old baby sleeping in a back room. While one boy waves the pistol, the other two pack a bag with icecream and chocolate. They then demand cigarettes and cash, making off with about $400.

The alleged robbery is the latest in a string of violent offences carried out by teenagers which includes the bashing of Scot Stuart Martin, 31, who was in New Zealand to attend a friend's wedding. He was in a coma in hospital yesterday as the wedding went ahead.

The number of young people arrested for violent crimes in New Zealand has soared by 50 per cent in the 10 years to 2007 while other offending has stayed static.

Couldn't agree more. Some seem to be starring in a movie/game with themselves as the central hero. They can really flash over if you are stupid enough to interrupt the script.

We get them coming into court and asking "Has 'my name' been called yet"? and then looking at you expectantly as if you should know their name. The standard response is always "No". They toddle off quite happily, lost in their fantasies.

It is starting to look like there is some sort of competition going on in South Auckland for who can get news coverage on a robbery for the most stupid product.

There are a few playstation games where kids have to do stuff like, rob shops, start drug empires, shoot cops, steal cars, drive around like whukheads, fly planes, and attack helicpters etc.....they can even pick up hookers which rejuvenates their strength levels, then they kill the hookers and take their money back fer krissakes!! GTA San Andreas and the new one.

Well you have to be raising some pretty dumb kids to not know the difference between games and reality...if they learnt by games then it's a wonder they didn't ask the shop keeper for their bonus points..

The games are aimed at kids, the very first level sees them running thru the neighbourhood tagging over another gangs spray tags. Maybe its conditioning...i.e shoiw them so much crap that they become de-sensitised to murder, car conversion, robbery, shooting cops and stabbing other game characters, just like those numnuts that shoot innocent people and stand in the dock with no idea of the severity of their crimes, many like that Bell hua are just clueless, and those gormless huas that killed baby Nia?...complete shock when they realised theyd ben done for murder...their elevators dont go all the way to the top aye, you can tell it in their blank stares and lack of any emotion at all, theyve got nothing inside em aye.
