Nah. I want to enter at least one of the photos in the local A&P show photography section - piss all people seem to come in here, [8 views after 3 days, about 5 or 6 mine while entering pics and stuff....] and Ive moved all my nature pics to a new folder, which cuts the link anyway

Good luck with your entry. I had only the general board bookmarked while I was out of the country so I didn't use up too much broadband on the cards I had to buy.... which cost an arm and a leg in some places... so thats my excuse for not viewing the pics lately. You have a good eye and obviously a good camera. My computer tech..( who is building me a new desktop pc at the moment) has just bought a 16 mp... way out of my league.

Hi Magoo. I use an old 6meg Pentax DA SLR. [5 years old] I dont bother using RAW as I then have to convert to JPEG for many applications.
I like the pentax - there are now many cameras on the market that exceed it in capacity, but hey! I'm not a professional photographer.
I still have my original SLR, an Asahi Pentax Spotmatic S, 35mm, but the Mercury battery for it is impossible to get in NZ now.

Nice camera the Pentax. I have a Pentax zoom 105R which took great pics. I am lazy now and use a Sony Cybershot. Suits me to be able to transfer images directly to the computer via the memory stick. Do you have the Microsoft power toy "image resizer" ? Great little free program from MS that operates off the mouse and you can resize a whole folder full of photos with one click. It is for XP but there is a clone for Vista. I have the links for both if you are interested, Saves a lot of time and reduces the file size for quick loading for online use. Did you know there is a battery shop in Sydenham ChCh that specialises in batteries and they also rebuild batteries. You may have some luck sourcing your mercury battery through them.
