We had our suspisions from the day we got him that he wasn't one of the cat world's great intellects.

We watched in hope but now we have to admit he has fluff for brains.

You've seen the photos of the great window exit failure - through a window that didn't open wide enough for his bulk. http://xtranewscommunity2.smfforfree.com/index.php/topic,809.0/msg,76790.htmlI've already told you of the printer confusion.http://xtranewscommunity2.smfforfree.com/index.php/topic,809.0/msg,60312.html

In the last two days we have seen him fall over trying to lick an itch and meowing in discust.

Then there is last nights effort which I caught partly on video - chasing a balloon, without a string, around the lounge.

I really have to work out how to upload video clips to u-tube.

He is however as cuddly as he looks.

Poor Bobby - he's not an idiot, he's just a little 'challenged.' Be nice!

Sounds like Sally, she does that.

Bobby however, doesn't but that isn't an indication of IQ.

He can hang his tail straight down and it doesn't reach the floor. This is a cat with short legs as well.

This week Bobby has:

  • attempted to chase a spec on a cork tile - one that was under the polyurithane
  • ambushed a resin kiwi in the garden- it wasn't moving
  • chased his favourite blanket (SP3's Thomas the Tank Engine one) down the hall as Sp3 was putting it away and attempting to sit on it

Bobby is on a diet.

Bobby doesn't like this idea.

Bobby caught a mouse last night. He brought it inside - and predictable I suppose - let it go uninjured.

After 10 mins and in full sight of Bobby Mr Sp managed to catch it and put it outside.

Bobby spent the next hour looking for it in the diningroom and hall (where he let it go) and trying to talk it out of any nook he thought it might be in while Sally watched from her place in the armchair.

Bobby is an idiot.

**giggles**

He's smart enough to know that diets suck.

I bet he's totally confused why you reacted the way you did to his loving bribe.  Gave you a gift and you not only rejected it, but you didn't reward him by filling his tummy up.  Poor Bobby.

Have I ever told you about one of Bobby's arch enemies?

Last Christmas he spend a considerable amount of time growling at this loathed one from the safety of the back of the couch while it was in the middle of the front lawn.

We think he managed to knock it over one night but otherwise he just growled from a distance. A large distance.

This year again he has taken exception to it standing in the middle of the front lawn.

Tonight he spent quite a bit of time trying to stare it into submission in the manner that only cats can do. Nose to nose, 6 inches away.

He had to admit defeat in the end.

It is very difficult to out stare a blue LED reindeer even when it is only about 12 inches high.

Bobby is a very lovable cat. He isn't as good company as Minnie was but he isn't far short.

He is still a complete dofuss.

Bobby just got an up close and personal lesson in computer printers.

He was on my lap when it started and had his nose in the printer slot when the first page shot out. He shot two feet into the air and landed on the floor leaving a couple of scratches on my knee.

He watched the second page emerge from the safety of the floor.

We had the camera out for the third page as he again had got up the courage to perch on top of the scanner cover nose in the slot. He flinched away when the page shot out.

He carefully observed the fourth page with his nose a much safer 6 inches away again with a flinch.

By the fifth page he had figured out that the paper had to be coming from somewhere probably underneath him or behind him.

By the sixth page he had his nose down behind the printer to try and figure out where.

That was over a year ago.

He still hasn't figured out the secrets of the printer - and he is still trying.

I just printed a page - he watched with interest - when it was finished he stood up and stuck his nose in the exit slot.

I had to take Bobby to the vet with an virus and infected eye.

The vet commented that he looked like a Birman cross with his white feet and short legs. She then said that Birmans made excellent family pets due to their placid nature but were quite frankly more than a bit thick.

Sounds very famililar.

BTW Bobby behaved very well at the vet and only complained when his temperature was taken by meowing. When the vet left the room and came back Bobby was still sat in exactly the same spot on the examination table. Sally in the same circumstaces would have been off the table in the corner between the sink and the wall - unless there was a free spot on one of the shelves.

Bobby's eye has since cleared up nicely.

 Grin
In our house there are some words that cannot be used in front of the dogs.
We do not say yum, yum yum, biscuit, treat, pigs ear, and the words ' do you want' usually mean you are going to get a dog in your lap.

This took place about 10 minutes ago.

Arthur: There is a rat behind the microwave.

 Me: seriously?

Arthur: yeah (backing away) it's a really big one. I can see its nose.

Me: we don't have a rat trap and a mouse trap won't cut it....fetch Sally and put her behind there.

Arthur then goes down stairs and gets Heather who carrying Sally.

Heather: Are you sure there is a rat there - there have been no signs of one.......oh sh*t I can see its nose! It is huge. Sally climb in there good girl...........Shreeeeek!

 Arthur: Shoot!

 Sally flys off the bench.

 Heather: It's Bobby! Sorry Sally

 Rebecca: Bobby the giant rat....hahahahahaha

Arthur: That was creepy, how did he fit behind there?

Moral of the story - check the tail if you think you have seen a rat. If the tail is fluffy it is a cat

Bobby is trying his paw at mousing again.

He has a fair shot of success this time - the mouse isn't moving much.

He just had a go at pouncing on it which produced a "Ow, you dofuss" from Mr Sp.

Bobby was a bit perplexed at this response.

He tapped the tail again which got and "Eh!" from Mr Sp.

Did I mention that the mouse is the computer mouse attached to Mr Sp's laptop which Mr Sp is busy using?

Bobby is now taking out his frustration at being warned off the mouse by taste testing the corner of the screen.

Bobby had another go at mousing this morning.

With a real mouse.

SIL is staying at the moment so since H is in the middle of exams there is a spare mattress standing in the diningroom during the day.

The mouse, predictably has gone behind the mattress and hidden in a blanket that is wrapped around it. (please don't tell SIL)

H gloved up and caught the mouse and took it outside.

Bobby watched her do this.

Bobby is still pawing at the blanket 15 minutes later.
