Super Bowl coverage in one US city became X-rated when a clip from a porn film interrupted the game's final minutes.
The porn scene was shown during Super Bowl's final moments
Fans watching the broadcast in Tucson, Arizona were reportedly exposed to a 10-second scene of a woman unzipping a man's pants and performing a sexual act.
The Arizona Daily Star said its newsroom was flooded with calls from enraged viewers.
Joel Hilander of Tucson said he and his young children saw the clip.
"I couldn't believe it. And I couldn't believe that my children were watching it either," Mr Hilander said.
Arizona's KVOA-TV has apologised to customers watching the Super Bowl coverage on the Comcast cable network.
"We are appalled this highly inappropriate material was displayed for some Comcast customers," said KVOA Communications general manager Gary Nielsen.
However, he added their investigations showed the signal left KVOA with no inappropriate material.
Comcast said it was "mortified" at the disruption, according to company spokeswoman Jenni Moyer.
She speculated it may have been caused by someone tapping into their transmission: "Our initial investigation suggests this was an isolated malicious act.
"We are conducting a thorough investigation to determine who was behind this."
The company is also offering a $10 credit to customers affected by the Tucson broadcast.
