I have found myself doing all sorts of things to prove to my kids that a) it isn't scary and b)if I can do it they can do it.
I am a bit claustrophobic and scared of heights (glass surrounded stairwells freak me out).
In the last few years I have:
- Been through the tunnels of North head without a torch (the kids took off with the only torch when someone behind us clanged a grate)
- Been into a couple of lava caves - one was so tight at the entrance I had to wiggle my shoulders and hips to get through
- Been down the mud slide at Camp Adair- it took 3 days to get all the mud out of my nose
- Clambered up low cliffs and around banks hanging on to Supplejack
- Handled all sorts of wildlife of the non furry sort
I went down a hydro slide so sp3 would on Saturday. My knees were almost knocking together before and afterwords but I did it.
Sp3 said on the way home "Do you know what mum? I watched the whole time we were there (at the pools) and you were the only adult to go down the slide."
