I'm having hip surgery next week and will have a few mobility issues resulting in a wheelchair being delivered this week. I spent about half an hour manoeuvering the wheelchair around the house and through doors seeing how I'd manage. Holly walked out, Yogi and Zara walked out ...

Bailey walked away but kept coming back to see what the monster on 4 wheels was, each time getting closer and closer until she got on my knee. I went for a ride around the house with Bailey on my knee. She LOVED it and purred herself silly. She kept reaching up and smooching my face. Once I'd stopped and was ready to get out of the chair, Bailey sat there as though 'hey I haven't finished yet!'

I had another dummy run yesterday with the wheelchair - getting into my bedroom and manoevring the chair around so that I could get the hairdryer out o the drawer and drying my hair. I had moved the bed and was doing quite well - then Bailey appeared. She wanted a ride on my lap so took a flying leap through the air and landed on me. Flatmate grabbed Bailey so I could continue ... Bailey got away and took another flying leap at me. This happened a few times then she dived through the wheels from the back of the wheelchair to the front. After she escaped from flatmate yet again, she took a flying leap at me from behind the chair landing on my shoulder. Bailey is going to be ... a challenge!

.... but it is only the beginning of the week.

I've learnt that it is always to stop and take a big breath when Burmese cats do things to challenge me. I have 3 Burmese. I take a lot of big breaths!
