Mr DT gets his overalls very dirty.  And between his job and the motorbikes him and the son favour, and the general grime that builds up anyway, I'm forever scraping and cleaning it out.

The lady across the road has a lovely clean washing machine.  She uses the same detergents as me, but is a widow with grown kids, so she doesn't really have the same issues but I asked anyway what she used.

Liquid Draino.

 Shocked

I'm too chicken to try it lol.

Anyone else got a secret cure?  Or have used Draino themselves?

I have used vinegar and hot water cycle with empty machine but don't really get a grease build up.   The grease on Mr F's clothes is just the odd smear here and there and I use Heavy Duty Shout Gel.   Go through one a fortnight.   I couldn't live without Shout and Wonder Soap  Smiley
Ohhh...for the good old days when he wore a collar and tie to work.  sigh....

I also put vinegar in an empty dishwasher now and then and put it through a cycle.

Yeah lol - vinegar just doesn't do it in there.  I love vinegar and usually bulk buy it and use it for all sorts of cleaning work, but Mr DT does a lot of work at the Port, around the coal dust and general crud that they manage to amass, and then there is oil and grease off the bikes together with the dirt and grit.

I emptied a 3 litre bottle of white vinegar into it once and ran a hot wash - it was only marginally better.

I need to think HEAVY duty, but draino just scares me.

Check out some of these Dragon and see if they are possibilities.   I think the draino could be a bit aggressive.

There is stuff for cleaning washing machines that you buy from the Cleaners Warehouse. They used to advetise it the radio.
