POLICE are appealing for public help to find the mother of a newborn baby boy found among rubbish at a tip in Sydney's southwest.
Officers were called to the waste management depot on Richardson Road at Spring Farm, near Narellan, about 10.30am (AEDT) today after the infant's body was found.
The body was reportedly discovered by workers at the site after a garbage truck was unloaded.
"Upon arrival police located the body of what appears to be a newborn boy among the refuse,'' police said.
A crime scene was established and investigators are appealing for public help to find the baby's family. "
Police would particularly like the infant's mother to come forward as they hold concerns for her welfare.
