Naw, tartan I can get and find no worries, have plenty of places and websites to go to for that, I need a wool/ polyester blend fabric in in those base colours for making an 18th century military red coat with yellow facing and white inner as well as a white waist coat, black for a seperate jacket and green and / or blue for facings on a tartan one.

I can only suggest Spotlight.  Don't know of any other fabric stores now.

The only other chain of fabric stores I know of now is Arthur Toyes. Clothworld may still be around as well, just not in this neck of the woods Roll Eyes

You might have to let your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages.

If you wanted cotton Spotlight and most Quilt and Patchwork suppliers would definately have homespun in solid colours.

Getting materials for home sewing is not as easy as it used to be. I had to go over to Waitakere to buy my new sewing machine last year.
