I thought you lived on a farm these days?

Are you taking a couple of weeks away from running the bookshop?

I'm going on holiday at Easter. There's a group of us heading across Cook Strait to Classic Fighters at Omaka Aerodrome, Blenheim over Easter (we've got a place in Picton), then down to Tekapo on Easter Monday for an overnight stop before carrying on to Queenstown the next day. We've got a place at Frankton on the main highway right opposite the Frankton Marina. We're doing a trip to Milford Sound (overnighting there) a couple of days after arriving at Frankton, then after spending another couple of days around the Queenstown area, we're off to Mount Cook for a couple of days. Then we've got a long drive from Mount Cook to Picton to catch the 6:15pm Interislander ferry to Wellington the day before my Mum turns 80 years old on St George's Day.

Sorry Brownie .... I forgot, have a nice holiday. Sounds like my idea of heaven - away from everyone with a pile of books *sigh* Do you need someone to come cook for you Tongue

Aaah what the heck you can all come.
No I still live in CHCH  and I am at the bookshop 3 days a week.
The farm is in Mayfield the only place on the road that the big dairy companies didn't buy up.
I get to be a farmer for a bit....actually I think it looks after itself mostly and someone else checks the big animals.  I relax , read, talk to and feed the 2 dogs and a cat.  It is also a POP place so could meet some campervanners.
I am sooo looking forward to it........ Mr B will probably turnup at weekends.

Oh I wish I was getting read for a holiday.....ours isn't until August.
We'll be flying to Queenstown, staying for 4 days, then driving to Mount Cook and staying for 4 days....basically the same holiday as last year. Then drive to Christchurch and fly back to Sydney.

I am a few k's out of Mayfield. (hour n half from CHCH) The silence is wonderful.  There is a family of magpies living in the trees nearby and have been for a few years they are really friendly and hang about looking for scraps.  The deer are doingtheir deer thing, the sheep are sheeping and the cattle are cattling. The cat is a pest, under my feet whenever I try to move.
The old dog is stone deaf and the lil one is hyper .
This is the life, I woke up at 10.30am    Can't remember the last time I slept so long.

I am on holiday all alone in the country. Half the lights in the house have just gone off and I can't find the switch board.  It is pitch black  .......   Thank god the power stayed on at this end of the house.

I will go on holiday soon too. Away from a keyboard up a mountain in Nepal. A bit of a business expenses paid trip really. I hope to learn the secrets of profit success of the Nepalese taxi Tuk-Tuk drivers and apply it to my taxi business in Wellington    Wink

I will keep the date secret at this time so that my readers dont start celebrating early. Grin
