I raided a huge bag of pears from my mother's tree this weekend as they were going to waste.
Now what to do with them............

Pear and ginger crumble   this isn't my exact recipe, which I can't put my finger on for the moment but very similar...http://www.tinnedtomatoes.com/2008/01/pear-ginger-crumble.html

cut them in half, remove pip bits and fill the concave with balsamic and poach.

If you type pear ginger into google there are quite a lot of recipes.    I love pears and ginger together, nice combination.

I guess I will have to freeze them. I might conduct an experiment tomorrow and try something like pear and orange jelly.

That sounds nice.     Last Sunday I served a peach dessert.  It was just the cooked peaches from the freezer and threw on top of that a packet of apple and sultana muffin mix.   That would be nice over some pears.
