Foxton mother Amanda Howell, 30, is a self-confessed jandal freak.
She wears them all year round and she even strings them up on her wire fence along the Foxton Straight.
Her obsession started two years ago, when she won a pair of jandals at the pub and decided to string them up on her fence.
Now, she has about 60 pairs, not including the odd ones, from children's polka-dot flip flops to old grey thongs.
The Kiwiana fence is becoming iconic, she said. "If you Google 'jandal fence' it comes up with my Bebo page."
The string of rubber footwear was temporarily moved to her parents' fence next door for six months while she was away, but she has transferred her collection back and hopes to fill the entire fence. She has plastic ties in her letter box so people can stop and string up their own jandals.
