Ok - which browser are you using and exactly what is the problem?
I need more than 'it wont let me see it' to work with...

Also - fire me the address of the site and the OS you're running on your puter.

And finally - what firewall stuff have you got installed and use - both on your puter AND on your router.

You have wireless network right?

Fire me that and we'll take things from there.

www.cairns.com.au - the bar showing the page is loading - goes about 2/3 loaded and then stops .. the internet connection lights also go out.

Im using XP pro .. and on a hard wire.

When the page loads .. all I have is a blank page - if I reload the page .. it goes back to the blank page with the url at the top of the browser.

When I try to update AVG - it says the connection failed - the same thing it says when I update superantispyware.

I dont know what firewall is on the router - I have windows and AVG firewalls running.
Ive always used both of them.

Ok - try going to AVG's website and see if you can download the latest version (dont actually do it thou - we just want to see if you can get there). Do that with windows update as well. Some bug's will block access to sites like these...

Re the firewalls - kill one of them. Personally I would just leave Windows firewall on. Running two can cause problems and you gain nothing from it.

You still haven't told me which browser...
But try going to the site in both browsers - let me know if the same thing happens on in both...

We are trying to nut out if the traffic is been stopped at your end or if the traffic is free flowing but there's some other problem at your end with rendering the page.

www.cairns.com.au does throw a javascript error - but this shouldn't stop the page loading...

You still haven't told me which browser...

OO Sorry

Its both FF and IE - nothing happens on both of them.

Umm I dont know how to get rid of the firewall on AVG - where does that happen?

I know I have a lot of protection going - ie running at the same time.

I will do what you say about AVG - but does Advanced Care give online protection - and what about superantispyware - or are they just programs to run to remove problems?

I like Advanced care - its a fast cleaner - and runs all the time .. that was that AWC or omething in the startup - which is why I dont know if it gives online/immediate protection as AVG does.

You've gotta bug.
You are also way over-killing the security aspect.

It sounds like you're probably up for a complete re-build.

Start backing everything you want to keep up onto disk - photos and the like.

Ha I got 'im!!  The little blighter!!

Aside from a lot of questionable stuff on Hijackthis, I will put the log file onto another group I use later tonight just to make sure I have caught everything in it, the others mostly just cleared out junk.
Then superantispiware found Trojan DNS changer (hijacked DNS)  I knew when I saw it that was the one.

I still have the same thing with incredimail/gameloaders wanting me to use their toolbars - damned things.

Ive been readying myself for a crash too, I have been putting a lot of my stuff into a site online, and onto my spare harddrive.  Only in the probability that it might crash I couldnt re-build it, Id be like MrL and have a couple of screws left over  Roll Eyes
