I drive along Wellington Harbour from Petone through to the City on my my to work each day or night. The view is always changing but spectacular. It gets me chilled out on my way home from manic shifts.

I saw a motorcycle and car collide on the adjacent highway while looking out my office window this morning.

It caused commuter chaos on SH2.

The morning is always the best time.  I remember my Grandfather saying that the day always seemed to die after midday.
He was correct, I think.  The light gets harsher and things look "flat."
Having said that, there is the occasional afternoon time......

Looking East from the office, near Ikamatua about 1600hrs.

I believe one of the best things we can do is to take the time to pause to look about us.  People in a hurry miss so much.   This morning I sat at the table and watched the sunrise and the colours were amazing.

I agree with your Grandfather Yak.  The fresh crisp morning colours are unmatched.     Great photo's.

I walked out of one of my workplaces the other day to see a firework display on at the Auckland Domain.

I should take a picture of my other view (Hauraki Gulf and Rangitoto Is) before the council appoves the Special Housing Area next door which will replace 2 houses and my view with a 20m high, 53 unit apartment block Angry

My driver's seat is a lazy boy chair and my windscreen camera shows our hallway, the front lawn, our fence, then across the road and to the opposite house.  It also works both ways:

Today while I was on duty I noticed an unaccompanied wee white dog trotting past.  Lost dogs are a menace to traffic so with the help of a guy (who with his dog) is a regular passerby we got it caught and tied it outside the gate, thinking it's owner might be out searching for it.

LSS = the owner arrived and took the wanderer home.

Back on duty;  the same wee white dog came past again, it's owner some distance behind.  He had found the hole in the fence that it was managing to escape through.
By the time he arrived I had let that dog into our section, both dogs were playing together and three of my other neighbours and I were discussing the best thing to do with it.

I think I have made several new friends - that dog, it's owner, and the regular dog-walker - which is where the "works both ways" comes in.  He had driven past and saw me in my drivers seat, so stopped to ask if we had got things sorted.

So while I may not have my favourite Office views any more I am beginning to feel as if I am part of it.

Was trying to capture the mist dissipating as I went up the valley today.  Hasn't quite come off.  Undecided

The view from my office window, which doubles as the dining room.    This beats reading the paper with breakfast. Smiley
Note to self.  Prune the peach tree.

Hope you aren't getting the wind that we are experiencing down here.  A couple of buckets and a deck chair just hit my ranch-slider driver's door

It would have blown the skin off a rice pudding if I had made one. 😆  Took some cardboard to the recycle plant and the dust was blinding.  Calm now though.

Smiley   I do have to say that we don't get a lot of wind here.  After living at the beach with a stiff easterly breeze day after day it is a most welcome change.  I think this is only the 2nd time since we moved we have had a wind like this.   It blew the air freshener can off the toilet window ledge and scored a hole in one. Smiley

I'm very well sheltered here with fairly high fences (one very high fence) so am not too badly affected. Ever now and then it gets bad though. My passionfruit and two of my tomato plants are horizontal.
