I was in Hastings last week. It was so humid by 8.00am and uncomfortable. I took Bailey (Burmese kitten) with me. She found the heat exhausting poor wee soul. (Not that any of my spoilt rotten felines are poor wee souls!)

Alcat, I am surpose to come back this year to do Mums ashes, I am not ready which I know is not fare on Mum as she is in my sister linen cardboard and needs to be done. I will still be able to use my kiwi pasport so that should be ok. Here it is 37 degrees at 8:50pm. Tomorrow over 40 and Sunday 46 where we are. fter Church on Sunday I think I might sit in the bath and read all afternoon.  |

I'm trying to work out whether it is hotter inside my place or outside. It's an oven outside and it's an oven inside where the thermometer on the wall is displaying a temperature of 34°C at the moment! There is absolutely no wind at all outside, not even the merest whisper of a breeze. And the forecasters are saying it is going to get even hotter tomorrow on the east coasts of both the North and South Islands as the hot air mass that has been causing the incredibly high temperatures in Australia drift across the ditch!!

Very warm weather with the temperature into the mid-30s in Wairarapa today. Not even the slightest breath of wind to provide any relief from the heat.
This was the weather near Dalefield (south-west of Carterton) this morning....

It is hot and dry.
I just got back from Rangitoto and unless there is a lot of rain in the next fortnight the next people in the bach are going to have to take water in. There was only 6 inches left in the main tank and the other two tanks (one borderline for drinking the other for cleaning only) are low as well.
Better still the long drop needs digging out fairly soon.
