from The Dominion Post....Wellington weather's heating up8:18AM - Tuesday, 27 January 2015 .SUNNY WELLINGTON: It's shaping up to be another hot day in Wellington — JULIET ALLNATT.WELLINGTON is today in for its hottest day of summer so far.
Wellington city was today forecast to reach 27 degees Celcius while Hutt Valley could reach 31°C, MetService forecaster Lisa Murray said.
Wellington Airport was already at 16°C at 7.30am today.
Wellington city's previous highs this summer were 26°C over the past two days and Hutt Valley had reached 29°C over summer.
The warm weather, “if you are not a farmer”, was being caused by a ridge pushing over New Zealand which was keeping us under “nice, settled weather”.
That was combined with a warm air mass coming down from the tropics.
