I just received an email from someone at the Wings Over NZ aviation messageboard who has been researching the history icecream in NZ and Google dragged up a few postings in this group. We used to wait outside the tip for the Griffins truck to arrive. All the reject sweets, easter eggs etc got dumped and if you got there at the right time you had a bounty.
