I only saw this since I clicked on All last posts since last signed in.    I haven't done any for a while but I did leather carving for years.   I didn't use the stamps, I cut and tooled the designs myself.   I only recently got rid of all my tools as no one was interested in taking it up.
I made handbags, belts, wallets and all the usual stuff.   Phone book covers, coasters,  note pad covers and then I got into the more intricate stuff and made miniature mexican riding saddles.  About  19 pieces in the pattern if I recall correctly.   It is a great pastime.   I found there was little point in making it to sell because the time involved negated the effort and the cost of the leather, dyes, thonging etc meant that people were reluctant to pay even cost price.   I gave mine as gifts.   One saddle was 1/4 scale and mounted on a saddle peg with a shield backboard and was donated to a local country music assn as the trophy for their annual awards.
