It's an old question, but the answer has huge implications.
What do we mean by free will? Are we just responding to stimuli? Does someone have to believe in a soul to believe in free will?
For the record, I don't believe in free will.
Realising there was no such thing as free will freed me. It was a pivotal moment. It made me realise prejudice is pointless, because nobody chooses who they are. It also has implications for the existance of god. If there is no free will, I can't choose to believe in god or not, I just do or don't. The bible says I have free will to accept or reject god, but if I don't have free will, that pretty much means he, she, it, can't exist in the traditional sence.
Am I just a biological computer? Are you?

Laughter is the best medicine, unless you've got a really nasty case of syphilis, in which case penicillin is your best bet.
