Title: When kids do housework
Post by: ssweetpea on December 23, 2009, 02:25:50 pm
Off their own bat be a little worried.

Mine have just attempted to do so.

Now I will admit that I am not a tidy house keeper. Things do tend to pile up on surfaces and in odd corners.

Not dirty things, just maybe useful things.

Like I said the kids decided to do some tidying - they chose one of my piles, my craft pile that also attracts papers.

They were asked to do the dishes - they did do that - sort off. The drying up hadn't been finished. Then they decided to tackle the pile - not the diningroom table that was first priority on my list and an easier job by far.

I am now faced with a bigger mess than when they started, it looks like they turned it upsidedown and gave it a stir gave the shelves the shovel treatment rather than the put new items in the same orde as the old treatment.

Plus I still have to do all the other tidying that I have to do before Friday and finish the gift wrapping. I have been on the go all day just as I have been the rest of the week. This is the first time I have stopped all day.

I feel like going to have a wee cry.

I haven't even had lunch yet.

yeah ... at least the deck table is clear and nearly clean enough to eat off.

A second scrubbing tomorrow should do it, too dark to finish it tonight.

As for the lounge, I have put away and thrown away a far bit and still can't see any improvement.

The dining room would look better if certain people wouldn't keep putting new stuff on the table the moment I clear it >:(

At least the kids finally did the dishes.

I think you are coping extremely well because I am one of those anal people who cannot abide anything out of its pigeon hole.  I would rather see dust on something that to see it out of place and my lot have learned over the years that if something gets left on any surface here they can reclaim it from the bin. ;D  Mind you it is a different story if I leave something lying.  ;D
