Title: new laptop
Post by: pantherrr0 on August 12, 2009, 12:30:32 am
my  computer is having  problemms and i suspect its hardware related,  its  currently in shop getting  looked att and im on a collection of parts atm
my current laptop specs are
1.8 x2 amd turion
4gb ddr2 / pc800
G7600   256 dedicated graphics
160 gb 4500 rpm hd ( current bottle neck)

im after something that is better

at least 7200 rpm hd
duel core 2 gherts + (i like amd but i guess intell would do =P ) processor
and graphics card with 512 dedicated ram
main memory isnt much of an issue as its upgradeable

im a bit out of  touch with laptop componants and  made teh mistake  of  going over  sites that had defaulted to the u.s page    looking at the ones avaliavle in nz  now is pretty depressing =(
all our high end brand models are badly out dated >.>

so does any one have  any idea on what i could look at that wont make me sad ?

drooling over an alienware customset up was a bad idea ='(

I only have the one laptop and I only use it for demos at clients... it's running Windows 7 which is a massive improvement over any other windows OS but other than that it's just a pile of crap... and since it's just a laptop it's not worthy of an upgrade nor replacement - until it dies at least....

So basically put - I know piss all about laptops.

However...
Why not just upgrade your current one?
It would be a lot cheaper....

Hey - why the 4GB of ram?
Are you into movie production or 3D animation or something?

 :)
