Title: HISTORY AND THE NOVEL
Post by: Brownie55 on February 02, 2009, 07:59:03 pm
The posts about jean Auel got me thinking about many books I could think of where, although fiction, the historical facts teach you a lot while also giving a damn good read. Some stand out....

Edward Rutherford who wrote Sarum, The Forest, London, Dublin, etc    fantastic reads full of history.

James Michener (sp) books are good that way too. He does years of research. actually going and living in the area where his books are set before writing it.
